American Revolution Learning Goals
1. I can identify and explain key events that led to the American Revolution –
a. The French and Indian War
b. Boston Massacre
c. Boston Tea Party
d. Stamp Act
e. Intolerable Acts
f. Other Taxes (Townshend Acts, Sugar, Navigation, Quartering)
g. Lexington & Concord
h. Bunker Hill
2. I can explain the importance of the Declaration of Independence and the reasons it gave for
American independence.
3. I can identify, explain, and compare major battles of the American Revolution –
a. Valley Forge
b. Saratoga
c. Yorktown (Treaty of Paris)
